With all of the high-tech electronics that have been incorporated into your C6 ZR1 Corvette, not to mention additional aftermarket electronics, stereo systems, heavy duty fuel pumps, ETC it can take a toll on the factory charging systems wiring ability to keep up. Especially if, over time some connections have possibly become corroded.

Installing a BIG 2 upgrade can be very beneficial as many on the Corvette forum will tell you. SacCityCorvette has developed a BIG 2 upgrade kit prioritized for the C6 ZR1 that has trunk mounted battery. It is made from all high quality materials and designed so it will not look like an aftermarket universal kit. This kit looks like a factory install. For safety it has a 125 amp heavy duty fuse, uses highly flexible made in USA welding grade 4 gauge wire. (not the type car stereo shops use) The positive wires have a High-Strength Slit Corrugated Sleeving just like the factory wiring over them for additional protection and a factory look. Connections are hydraulically crimped for reliability. The kit comes with all the hardware needed to do the install. The installation only takes about 30 minutes with simple hand tools. No cutting or removing the factory wiring.

The idea behind the Big 2 is that it runs a 4 Ga. Negative cable from the frame to the engine and 4 Ga. Positive cable from the alternator directly to the under the hood fuse box where its important to keep the amperage and voltage up. We feel the factory charging wire that is at the starter where the positive battery wire connects is sufficient to keep the battery charged so its not necessary to run a cable back to the battery. It is more important that fuse box is supplied where the electronics need it most.

The BIG 2 simply overlays the factory charging system wiring more than doubling the amperage the system can handle.
