Especially if, over time, connections have become corroded.

There is NO cutting or removing the factory charging system wiring.

The Big 3 cables run from the Alternator directly to the under-hood Fuse box where all the engines electrical Relays and Fuses. Combined with your factory system it more than doubles the amperage capacity. And because your Positive wires are only as good as your Ground, the kit comes with a heavy duty Ground, that goes from the Frame to the Engine.

Installing a BIG 2 upgrade can be very beneficial as many on the Corvette forum will tell you. For safety it has a 125-amp heavy duty fuse, uses highly flexible made in USA welding grade 4 gauge wire. (Not the type the car stereo shops use) The positive wires have a High-Strength Slit Corrugated Sleeving just like the factory wiring over them for additional protection and a factory look.
